Summary
The Director of Coating Operations oversees manufacturing workflow and personnel in order to meet customer requirements, on time goals, and production needs as required.
Essential Job Functions
Essential functions for this role will include most of the following:
- Run all aspects of operations in the Coating Facility/Operation
- Manage and oversee all people within the Coating Facility/Operations
- Manage all Standard Operating Procedures for all aspects of operational departments within the coating operation.
- Write and maintain corrective actions for all persons and root causes within operations
- Maintain Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for all operations within the coating operation
- Maintain inventories for all coating materials
- Responsible for achieving all departmental business, quality and safety goals established by management.
- Drive Lean and quality management systems initiatives.
- Understand and manage all coater operations and equipment
- Manage safety initiative and work closely with Safety Manager to maintain safety at the highest level.
- Perform and oversee performance reviews for all direct reports throughout operation.
- Perform additional responsibilities and duties as described and outlined by direct supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES
- Degree in Manufacturing Technology, Engineering or Business Administration/Management preferred.
- At least 4 years of manufacturing experience on related equipment in a leadership role.
- MS Office proficiency required.
- Knowledge of related production methods, materials, and equipment.
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles is preferred.
- Supervisory skills and the ability to apply them in the workplace.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Effective oral and written communications skills.
- Ability to prepare reports and use computer terminal. (ie. Excel, Word documents, PowerPoint, Crystal Reports)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and juggle multiple priorities.
